Lamination to Eight Layers
Lamination configured per product builds the structure your cracker is judged on, laid as a continuous sheet and folded on itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
What machines make up a biscuit production line?
Mixing and dough feeding, a forming section, a tunnel oven, cooling conveyors, and stacking with packing integration. The forming section differs by product: a rotary moulder for soft dough, or sheeters, laminators, gauging stations and a rotary cutter for hard dough.
Can Sunbeam supply individual machines?
Individual units can often be supplied to integrate with an existing line. Share your current line speed, width and control arrangement so we can confirm fit.
What is the widest line Sunbeam builds?
Lines are built to 1,525 mm. A wider line delivers higher output inside the same footprint on broadly unchanged overheads, which is usually the lowest cost route to additional capacity.
Which tunnel oven should my plant choose?
Crackers generally take a direct fired oven. Products sensitive to the combustion atmosphere take indirect radiant. Thicker products bake evenly under convection. Configuration is recommended against product and available fuel.
What is the difference between a rotary moulder and a rotary cutter?
A rotary moulder presses soft dough into a die to form the piece, used for glucose, cream and milk biscuits. A rotary cutter cuts shapes from a laminated hard dough sheet, used for Marie, crackers and savoury biscuits. Dough rheology determines which the line requires.
Why do biscuits shrink or curl after cutting?
Elastic recovery, caused by reducing the sheet faster than the matrix can relax. Staged gauge reduction holds the cut dimension through to the oven.
